The Giants of Textile World Gathered at KTM 2018

Kahramanmaraş Textile Machineries Exhibition organized with the cooperation of Kahramanmaraş Trade and Commerce Chamber and the Municipality of Kahramanmaraş opened its doors for the 4th time.

International Kahramanmaraş Textile Machineries Exhibition KTM 2018 having gathered the world’s leading textile technology manufacturers together in Kahramanmaraş, the center of textile production, was the platform of important business connections as well as promoting the latest Technologies in textile industry for the fourth time. The opening speech was made by Mr.Serdar Zabun, the Chairman of Kahramanmaraş Trade and Commerce Chamber (KMTSO) in Kahramanmaraş Exhibition Center (KAFUM).  Zabun gave information about the exhibition and noted that the textile industry was one of the main leaders in the market economy and the development process and added that it had great contribution for the industrial production and Turkey’s exports. Zabun continued his words: “Kahramanmaraş is at the leadership position in the industry with its investments and became a crucial actor in every field of textile from yarn to fabric. Thus, our city became one of Turkey’s largest industry centers with its economy valuing 40 billion dollars. Thanks to its entrepreneurs spending every penny of the incentives received for investment, the city has a Word with its high capacity business in every field as well as mainly textile. Kahramanmaraş is exporting to 125 countries with 300 exporter companies and create an employment possibility to around 150.000 people,” he said. In addition, Zabun noted that the exhibition gathered different local and international players of the industry together.

The Council Chairman of Kahramanmaraş Trade and Commerce Chamber (KMTSO), Mr.M.Hanefi Öksüz, was another speaker in the exhibition; “We create the largest employment for this industry. As a city, we rank in the top 4 exporting cities in Turkey. İstanbul, Gaziantep, Bursa and Kahramanmaraş. We are one of the world’s leading textile manufacturing cities,” he said. Mr.Öksüz underlining that the textile industry experienced a growth firstly in cotton industry,: “Recently, we are one of the denim manufacturing cities. The textile industry in Kahramanmaraş has taken crucial steps in terms of quality. We receive offer from Europe to develop technologies together. The fabrics we manufacture have reached certain trademarks and levels. Old people used to say do not get used to spend before you earn. We should learn our lesson from this. As Turkey and the industry, we will get stronger,” he said. Another of the important speakers is AK Party’s Deputy of Kahramanmaraş, Mr.Ahmet Özdemir; “ We actually set our journey as the capital of literature and poetry. Now, I have realized that we should head for textiles. We are going to have serious studies regarding this upon negotiating with our deputies.  Our city has used the opportunities given to them in the best way. Our people have the responsibility to fulfill any duty assigned and we do our best to promote our heroic city” he said.

Great Interest for KTM 2018

The exhibition held in Kahramanmaraş, where 27% of the yarn production and 8% of the woven fabric production is held, is organized since 2014 and covers textile, ready wear, production line and raw materials, too. The representatives of Turkey’s most important textile companies, associations, scholars, students, machinery and accessories manufacturers came together during the exhibition for three days. The Exhibition bringing together the shareholders of the industry was the venue for the most special meetings and special machinery shows this year again. International KTM 2018 Exhibition provided B2B interview advantages, wide presentation areas and new opportunities to create new business for exhibitors and visitors. The International Kahramanmaraş Textile Machineries Exhibition KTM 2018, received great interest from local and international yarn, knitting, weaving, technical textiles, dyeing-printing and machinery accessories and spare parts and was highly booked. The exhibition, which welcomed 7.973 visitors last year, hosted mainly visitors from Kahramanmaraş Adana, Gaziantep, Niğde, Osmaniye, Şanlıurfa, Denizli, Bursa, Kayseri, Malatya, Adıyaman, Tekirdağ and İstanbul, totaling 21 cities and 8.571 visitors in total. The exhibition hosted important technologies for 3 days with the participation of executive board members of Kahramanmaraş Trade and Commerce Chamber along with local and international companies.
